Timothy W. Mayben, President and Managing Partner, joined The Mayben Company in 2001.
A native of Dallas, graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Marketing and Advertising, his background includes six years with CompUSA and four years at FOX Sports Network. While at Fox, Tim developed a reputation as a patient educator and clear communicator. During those years he also discovered his enjoyment of technical subjects and helping people understand complex issues.
After 10 years in the corporate sector Tim became increasingly more interested in learning about the Financial Advisory practice of his father, Philip W. Mayben. His academic background and real-world experience gave him a powerful perspective leading to a career as a Financial Advisor. Pursuing this interest, Tim is a Registered Principal with United Planners Financial Services, and holds a Series 24 General Securities Principal license, a Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law securities license, a Series 7 General Securities Representative license, as well as a Group 1 Life and Health Insurance license. Additionally, he received formal training with a national financial advisory services company and a major Life Insurance company.
His primary focus is helping clients plan for retirement on their terms. Many people find themselves at the end of a successful career without a strategy to make their savings last a lifetime; Tim's goal is to find ways of adding certainty, where possible, so that retirement can be enjoyed with confidence. Additionally, Tim maintains the office computer network and its mobile computers.
Tim shares with Phil the common vision of helping their clients achieve financial independence through the time-tested practices of asset allocation and diversification. His motto is one of Phil's first lessons to him regarding success: "Protect and Enrich."
Tim and his wife, Lanna, live in Frisco, Texas with their daughter, Claire. His personal hobbies include running, weight lifting, and reading. Together with his family he enjoys travel and cooking.
